Today I would like to highlight another of the recipients of the Health Impact award. The American Liver Foundation provides a voice for those who suffer from liver disease, providing valuable resources for patients, families, and friends of those who are coping with liver problems. Wellsphere honors the incredible work they do to raise awareness and support both clinical care and research, by giving them the Health Impact Award.
The American Liver Foundation website is a great guide to the many activities of the foundation. Here are just a few of the activities that demonstrate the impact that the foundation has on the 30 million people who suffer from liver-related diseases.
Liver Life Walk
"Wak for fun, walk for life" is the motto of these fun-filled day-long events held throughout the country. These walks are organized by the many local chapters of the liver foundation throughout the country. You can find the walk closest to you by checking out the Liver Life Walk website.
Liver Life Challenge
These challenge events encourage people to undertake formal endurance training so they can meet the challenge of the cause. Runners and marathonists from Boston to San Francisco join in to act as an ambassador for the cause of the foundation.
The foundation runs an annual Liver Life Challenge Climb of Mount Shasta -- for 2009, you should apply to participate by January 30.
